This credo is the battle cry of the network marketer. All MLM and network marketing programs are built off of a network marketing list. List building is the best and most effective way to improve or expand your reach as a marketer. The list is also known as leads or contacts and is the crux of your income generation.
So what this means to the network marketer is that building a list is the way to go. Building a network marketing list can be done in any of several ways. Remember that having a list of contacts that are interested in your product or service increases your probability of making a sale. In other words, the list equals monetization.
There are companies that specialize in assisting with creating mailing lists. The marketer tells them what industry is being targeted and the URL of the program. The list company then sends that information across their database of prospects. If they are interested in the product, the person or people will request more information. Each one that does this is a lead or contact and is a component of your mailing list.
The other method is to generate your own leads and build your own personal network marketing list. The use of auto responders is prevalent here and is suggested. Basically, you offer information that entices the prospect to ask for more. Many marketers will offer a free item of some sort to get the contact to respond.
Typically the free item is a report, paper or EBook that is relevant to your product/service niche. The contact is asked for basic information in exchange for the free item. Usually, this is an email address and first name. Once you have this information, you have the start of a network marketing list that is targeted to your specific area of expertise.
Now you have the information and, more importantly, you have their permission to send emails to them. That removes the danger of SPAM reports to your ISP, so you're safe. All the addresses in your network marketing list are now in your sales funnel. You can now present them with a low level item so as to build confidence and trust.
When the leads from your network marketing list see that you are honest and trustworthy, they are more likely to buy from you again. It is a fact that it takes a single customer five to seven views before they actually make a purchase. It is after that point that your list is monetized.
Using any of these network marketing list building techniques is effective. It just takes some real hands on customer service and maybe a little TLC to get the first sale converted. After you convert that first sale, you have turned a prospect into a client. So when you hear that "the money is in the list", take it seriously. Build your list, work it and keep in touch with al your contacts regularly.
