First, I cut down the perennials: day lily, oriental lilies, and Black-eye Susan plants.

Then I dig up the annuals that will not last during the last of fall season. I put leaves over the flower garden in the back yard.

I also put leaves in garbage bags for use on the rose garden for the winter season. I usually build a short fence around the rose garden with chicken wire. Pounding in 6 to 8 wooden steaks in chicken wire into the ground to secure the wire. Cut the stems of rose bushes to about 5 to 6 inches in height. Cover with leaves about 12 inches high. Then cover the leaves with a netting securing the leaves so they do not blow away. During the winter, the leaves will bunch down from snow.

Brought this Toro 51599 electric blower/vacuum using it several times per week and even daily in the fall. It is amazing light and doesn't strain your back. Coverts from a blower to a vacuum very quickly without a need of a screw driver and undue force. The leaf bag is well designed, it disconnects easily and is a snap to empty. The vacuum suction and air blast from the blower seems equivalent to the Echo.

Excellent Better than I expected. The unit is very light, well balanced, extremely. I believe a lot of us prefer the powerful and quiet electric blower v/s the gas blower as did this person. Yes, you will need to deal with the hazzle of an extension cord when using this tool. It is less of a hazzle in the long run. Less fuel, maintenance, excessive noise or fumes, less expensive, and leaf vacuum capability.

An yet another review, this blower/vacuum is the best lawn tool I have ever purchased.
