While deciding whether to admit your child in a particular day care or not you must check if the daycare has the license to take care of an infant. The license should be issued by the local city services department. Safe and legal environment should be on the top of the check list, because sending your child to a center which does not meet the criteria of your local city service will not be a wise decision.

Day care centers should allow the parents to visit without informing. Visiting a daycare without informing helps you get to know the actual environment in which your child will be kept. If they do not allow the parents to visit without an appointment they might be hiding something and taking a risk for your child is not a wise decision.

Young children get sick easily therefore, it is very important to make sure that a day care does not allow any sick child in their premises for long. If they do so then such a daycare is not for you as it may make you and your child fall sick.

Also observe the number of children handled by one teacher in a daycare. If one teacher is handling 6 to 9 babies at a time then such a daycare is not appropriate. An infant needs special attention and it becomes very difficult for one person to handle more than 5 babies at a time.

You must also gather information from the parents of the infants already admitted in the daycare, neighborhood, friends and family. You must make research on your own by searching on the internet and visiting the center.

Visiting the day care is also very necessary before deciding about a particular day care center for your newborn. You must check the lightings, bathroom, area where your newborn will spend its day. The food preparation area must also be very hygienic as the preparing feed for a newborn in an unhygienic area is not at all suitable.

Bright colors and mobile phones fascinate infants. A day care must have all such objects to attract the children. Newborns are more comfortable in a place where there are pictures and bright colors. A day care must be designed keeping in view the facts which attract a child.

Choosing the best for your child will give a healthy and happy family. A good infant care not only takes care of your child but also releases your stress while you are at work. So don't forget to rate a day care on your check list before deciding to admit your angel in one.
