With thousands upon thousands of parcels being sent around the UK and the rest of the World every single day, the variety of items that are being sent is almost limitless. The majority of goods that are sent are fine and don't need to be worried about at all. However, there are certain things that UK courier services will either prohibit or have some form of restriction on and you should be aware of these before sending anything with them. Restricted Items.

The items detailed here are deemed to be unsuitable for transport by many couriers, they can still be sent but they are sent at your own risk and there are no guarantees or cover provided for them. Sending any of the following items may result in extra charges being applied or may even end up with them being confiscated by authorities.

Any items that are of extremely high value are not suitable for delivery by a regular service. If you need to send any jewellery, precious stones, antiques or valuable pieces of art then you should look at using a specialist delivery company to do so. You should also be wary of sending anything that is made from fragile materials such as glass, ceramic or china, if they break along the way you may not be covered for them. All items that could be seen as a weapon may end up in the hands of the authorities if sent via regular delivery, this includes replica guns, decorative swords and knives. Important identity documents or monetary items are also not recommended, passports, birth certificates and credit cards should be sent via secure delivery if necessary.

Prohibited Items.
