Undying is a first person shooter video game about the adventures of a 1920s Irish paranormal investigator sent to find out about mysterious occult rumors on the estate of one of his friends. You must uncover the secrets of this occult and stop the Undying King from entering the earthly realm. The gameplay follows standard first person controls but you have a number of unique magical weapons at your disposal, from the Gelziabar Stone to the Ectoplasm spell. The game was critically acclaimed but did not sell very well, which made Gamestop give it the Best game that no one played award for that year. Eternal Darkness: Sanitys Requiem There have been lots of games based on H.P. Lovecrafts Cthulhu Mythos but none as successfully and terrifyingly as Eternal Darkness. Highlighted by its unique, patented Sanity Meter, Eternal Darkness really messed with your mind, for whenever your character came face to face with unspeakable evil, your sanity level would drop, and when it dropped far enough, strange things would start to happen, the walls would start dripping blood, your screen would mysteriously go blank, or you would hear the sound of footsteps and voices which were not there. The game had one of the most complex storylines in recent memory, with an elaborate backstory of Gods and humans who throughout time have kept the Gods at bay.
