Make Your Bathroom Look Bigger
Most toilets are not designed as a room where much leisure time is spent
. Many loos are downright small and fundamentally, uncomfortable little rooms. If closet is more the word you would use to explain your toilet, a little imagination and planning can make your loo look larger.
There are a few general decorating techniques that may be applied to make your small bathroom appear bigger without moving any walls.
To boost the appearance of space, mirrors are highly helpful. If there's sufficient wall space, put a large mirror on the wall behind the loo sink. Mirrors reflect light in the room as well as reflecting colours and patterns. In place of one huge mirror, a grouping of smaller mirrors is also effective in creating the illusion of enlarged space.
Nothing makes a little area seem smaller than confusion. Cut the confusion to make the bog more attractive in general. Rather than hanging numerous towels, at most hang one pair in a light tone coordinated with the color(s) of the bathroom. Rather than showing many tiny inventive pieces, select only one. Avoid using numerous little accessories, stick to only one. Whatever you don't need, stash it out of the way. Ridding the room of confusion will right away make it appear more spacious.
If your little lavatory has visual obstructions like a frosted glass shower or bath door, replace it with clear glass. Better yet, lose the glass door and use a shower curtain that may be left open when the shower isn't in use. By getting rid of visual obstruction, your eyes will be able to see the back wall instead of vision being blocked by an obstruction that makes the room appear smaller than it truly is.
Extra lighting does not take any space and costs very little. Lighting adds interest and opens up the appearance of your space. Recessed lighting, wall sconces and lamps add warmth and the illusion of increased space. If expense isn't a great way to make your toilet appear larger is to put in a skylight or a large window to bring more light into the room.
Color is urgent in making a little room appear bigger. Soft, pale, neutral tones create an illusion of space. Use "cool" colours to make a comfy, serene atmosphere.
The colors on the floor are critical. Employ an enormous, light coloured rug to cover your existing floor. A light colored rug will make your tiny room appear much larger. A pleasant plush bog rug protects you from the cold floor when you climb out of the shower. Except for being pleasing for your toes, your loo rug must be in a position to withstand moisture. You would like bog rugs that dry quickly, are not highly absorbent and are easy to wash. To deter mold avoid woven fiber rugs since they are very slow drying and tough to clean. Chenille and cotton are very popular selections for loo rugs as they dry swiftly and can be easily laundered.
Make your bog appear larger by clearing clutter, using lighting and color (be sure to include the floor ) to give the semblance of increased space.
