While you may enjoy the tranquility of writing and addressing Christmas cards late at night after your family has gone to bed, you might want to consider taking a different approach this year.

One way to make the sending of Christmas cards joyous for everyone involved, sender and receiver alike, is to make the process a family project. By getting your children involved from the very beginning, you give them a way to participate in the selection and creation of the cards that you will send. They may even have suggestions as to which people should be added to the list to receive a card.

You might be surprised by the creativity of your kids when it comes to your Christmas cards. If they want to make handmade cards, let them. There is nothing more personal that you could send to your friends and relatives than a handmade card. If their interests are more along the lines of drawing, you could have your children draw pictures that you include in cards that you have purchased.

There is no doubt that having the kids involved will be evident in your Christmas cards, whether they create handmade cards or draw pictures that you insert. And, there is no doubt that most people will be charmed by the end result when they receive your card in the mail. Either way, everyone comes out happy, and that is the reason you send Christmas cards in the first place.

Either way you do it, having your children involved makes them feel like an important part of the process and the holiday. In addition, it gives you one more family activity that you can share. The memories made from these simple family projects will stay with your children for a lifetime.
