Make a Lot of Money Selling Pictures

For some people the art of photography is just a wonderful hobby that they enjoy and often never even think about making money doing it. The reality is that photos can equate to cash, and the right photo at the right time can make a lot of money for the person who snaps that picture that amounts to instant gold. Sometimes a photographer grabs that perfect shot even when they aren't trying to photo what they captured at all. This is the wonderful excitement of photography.

From paparazzi taking photos of the latest celebrity on their way to jail to the nature photographer capturing the charging elephant somewhere in Kenya, photos can make a lot of money in different ways. While the techniques may be quite different in some circumstances, they also can be similar. Remember when Sean Penn used to attack paparazzi when they tried to get a shot of him? Well it is quite the same as the charging elephant for the photographer and they have to gauge when to get out of the way or they may become a victim of their subject! Other more basic ways to make money with your camera are hiring yourself out for weddings or family portraits, although that isn't quite as exciting for sure.

The biggest way to make a lot of money with your photographic skills is to get out there and shoot that camera as often as you can. You may find even the simple photo of that butterfly sitting on your rose bush could be a spectacular shot, worthy of National Geographic, and that many of your photos of something truly spectacular in real life, like the Grand Canyon, turn out to be very ordinary. Capturing something in the moment is what photography is all about, and when you are truly lucky capturing that very ordinary subject in that moment becomes incredibly special.

No matter how you enjoy the world of photography, always remember that that award winning shot that can make a lot of money for you is always lurking around the corner. Even if you have no intention of making money from your pictures, it will be hard to not sell the once in a lifetime photo of an alien spaceship that landed in your yard, or the clear image of that bigfoot or chupacabra that runs down your street in the early morning.
