It seems that everywhere you look today are Images. Posters, TV, Postcards, Web.
I was looking to share my holiday photos online with my friends, I had explored Photo albums and slideshows, but ultimately they were at best dull, at worst boring.
A Comedian friend suggested I take a look at Animoto, which turned a set of photos into a kind of Pop video; he was using it to advertise his act to promoters and agents. I have to say it knocked my socks off.
For a start, it was Free for a 30 second version which was more than adequate for my needs. I uploaded a selection of photos with a simple browse button and once uploaded I could add music from an extensive collection, or even use my own. I was then prompted to give it a title and hit the button and in less than 8 minutes the Animoto video was ready to watch!
It becomes quite addictive as you can re edit, shuffle the photos, change the music and even choose what picture you want to appear when people first open the video. No two videos are ever the same, just hit the button and it makes a new looking Video.
As I said the basic free version was brilliant for a quick show, message to your friends, a moving online business card and hundreds of other uses. I opted for the $30 upgrade which gives me the ability to make unlimited length movies, and include 10 second movie clips as well as being able to download the movie onto my laptop.
There's also a fully functioning version for Business users which gives the ability to end up with a movie in Full HD and Download to be able to burn onto a DVD. It also has the advantage of being unbranded and not showing the companies Logo at the end.
