"Very recommendable" quality tyres from Nokian Tyres

Nokian Tyres has again received top marks from leading German automobile associations and magazines for its high quality summer tyres. The Nokian H tyres have received several acclaims with ACE Lenkrad praising them as the well-deserved test winner of the ACE/GT (ACE = European Automobile Association) 2009 summer tyre test and ADAC, a German automobile association, giving the tyres a "very recommendable" stamp in its 2010 summer tyre test.

The biggest European car magazine, Auto Bild, also rated Nokian Tyres' Green Nokian V tyres as very recommendable in its latest eco tyres test. The Finnish premium tyre, Nokian V, is a considerable fuel saver and furthermore offers great safety in wet circumstances, which is an exceptional feature for an eco tyre. Auto Bild further described the Nokian V's strengths as having well-balanced safe handling properties on wet and dry roads, high safety reserves with aquaplaning, short braking distances on a wet road, and satisfying fuel saving potential.

The Nokian Z G2 tyres also received a "very recommendable" praise from ADAC stating such strengths as being a very balanced summer tyre, very good on a wet road, and very good on a dry road / asphalt. The low level of the summer tyres' fuel consumption also achieved a mark of "very recommendable" while proving excellent safety capabilities in stability and braking on a wet road. The SUV tyres Nokian Z SUV received the additional acclaims of having a low rolling resistance and being amazing on sand by Auto Bild.

Check tyre pressures and tread regularly

To save fuel effectively, you should always drive with the right tyre pressure with which you can save 0.3 to 0.5 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres with a tyre with lower rolling resistance, Nokian Tyres calculates. Additionally, a low tyre pressure boosts rolling resistance as the tyre changes its shape too much which can cause difficulties controlling your car in extreme situations and danger for you and your family. And not only does driving with the correct tyre pressure save you money, it's also good for the environment.

Check the pressure of your tyres! The correct pressure guarantees that the tyre rolls and steers easily. It also reduces hazardous emissions. Also, carefully check the condition of your summer tyres before fitting them. Ensure that there are no cracks, cuts or bulges on the sidewalls. The recommended depth of the main grooves is at least four millimetres. You can easily check the depth yourself with a 2 euro coin. Matti Morri, Nokia Tyres' tyre specialist, recommends placing a 2 euro coin in the tyre groove, and if the silver rim is visible, you might want to consider changing your tyres.
