Most places out their offering you money to stay at home and make money are scams, or only very few people are able to make a lot of money, while the others are left by the wayside.
No one wants to spend their days taking surveys that take over 15 minutes to complete and only pay you $1 or $2 a survey.
The thing to look for is a legitimate company, who is selling real products to real customers. These companies are few and far between, but they are out there.
If one of these companies are found, most people expect to do a minimal amount of work and get paid the big bucks for a small amount of work. Unfortunately, if it sound too good to be true, it probably is.
If you want to make upwards of $10,000 a month, or even half of that, hard work and a lot of time needs to be put in. Don't be one of those people who think they'll be sitting by a pool and customers will contact you to give them something.
At home sales people need to be dedicated to making sales and putting in the extra hours; even when the temptation of the television is staring at you in your living room. A good sales person will use all outlets to meet clients and try to sell them their product.
The internet is one of the most useful tools available for a sales person, but it is also an easy one for customers to ignore. That is why more companies are encouraging their sales people to use outlets like the television, print, and telemarketing.
If all of these tools are used to their fullest, the maximum amount of sales can be made.
If you are charismatic and outgoing, and are able to make sales and attract customers to buy you product, then you too can become one of the success stories that are advertised as "This could be you if you work form home!"
There are a few draw-backs to working at home that need to be considered; however, starting with an unstable paycheck. Every month will not bring in thousands of dollars, in fact some months may bring no dollars at all.
Because of this reality, sales people who work from home need to realize the importance of always staying on top of their client list, and always seeking and attaining new clients.
Even after a lot of hard work and communication with people, there will be slow periods where customers or potential customers are simply not interested in buying anything, or they have no money to buy the product you are offering.
The unsteady paycheck means at home sales people need to be even more careful with the money that they earn, and remember that that amount of money will not be the same next month.
Another draw-back is that some people may think it is harder to work at home than in an office, because of the many distractions home life brings. There are so many opportunities to be lazy and just watch a movie or play a game instead of focusing on your work.
People considering working from home should realize before hand the amount of focus and self-discipline needed to truly be able to accomplish their tasks. If they fail to take care of their work and stay on track, no money will be made since sales positions are solely commission-based.
If you are able to discipline yourself enough to accomplish work, and are willing to put in the time and effort to make as many sales as possible to a large number of people, then an at home sales career might be a good fit.
The added benefit of never having to leave the comfort of your own home and creating your own hours can be a true benefit for people who enjoy having that level of freedom and being in control of your own salary.
