Making Your Own Website And Making It Search Friendly

Before the advent of web applications, you really had to learn about HTML and other

programming languages if you wanted to find out how to make a website. There were several programs to help you make your first webpage and many of them have matured so you can do so much more. But not everyone is willing to try out these applications especially if they are in a hurry. The good news is that web applications are more common and all of the modern web browsers are capable of running them without issues. Google features its own service called "Google Sites" which is a web application linked to your Google account. If you already have a Gmail address, you should be able to use the service and make your very first website with relative ease.

In fact, Google Sites is one of the easiest programs to use because you do not have to install anything. All you have to do is point your browser to google and click the "Create" button after logging into your Google account. You should see some templates that can serve as the framework of your new site. Picking one of these templates can make your work a lot easier since you can immediately focus on adding content to your site. If you want to make something a bit more unique, you can use the blank template so you can design the layout to your liking. After entering the name of your site and setting the address, you can go straight to work.

You will notice that you won't have to deal with any source codes or other complicated things. The interface is clean and you can easily switch to editing another page by clicking the item on the sidebar. There is a toolbar that you can use whenever you need to add formatting to text objects or add other types of objects to your workspace. Layout options are available on the toolbar as well. While Google Sites isn't as complicated as commercial desktop web authoring tools, you can still add some special elements like tables, calendars, charts, maps images and documents. After you are done with the website, just click the "Save" button.

The interface of Google Sites even less complicated than Microsoft Word so just about anybody should be able to make a simple and elegant website. Plus, you won't have to worry about things like hosting because the site is already hosted on Google's servers. The URL isn't so ugly either and you can always use domain forwarding if you own a domain. You can also make multiple websites using the same Google account which is always welcome.
