Although you will oftentimes read reviews that downplay the nightlife in the islands, nearly every Maldives hotel has some type of nightlife to offer the international traveller. This is especially true if you are staying in one of the many coastal resorts in the region. Most of these establishments offer a couple of bars and restaurants for having an enjoyable evening out, but they don't stay open into the wee hours of the morning like some in other regions do.

Sails Bar at Baros Maldives - this bar is one of the most beautifully decorated ones in the islands. The sides of the structure are open so that you can enjoy some spectacular panoramas of the island and the surrounding waters.
L'Iru Bar, Kani Club Med (Club Med Maldives) - one of the more lively resorts, this establishment caters to a younger crowd and features a variety of different bars and nightclubs. If you are craving some livelier action once the sun sets, this is the place.
Sunset Bar and Grill at Conrad Maldives - one of the most popular upmarket nightlife establishments in the islands, it features one of the classiest over-water bars in the Maldives.
