Managing Dry Hair

No one wishes to have dry hair. It is more prone to breakages, tangles, split ends and can also lead to fungal formation on the scalp. These problems deteriorate the quality of your hair and hence should be eliminated. Here are some natural remedies that you can try out at home. These remedies are inexpensive and do not have any side effects. They help in keeping your hair healthy and well nourished.

One of them is a protein treatment, in which an egg is beaten along with skimmed milk. Now rub the paste on to the scalp and leave to set for about 5 minutes. Rinse properly using water and leave to dry. This treatment can make the hair strands strong and healthy.

Take a cup of coconut milk and mix it with one teaspoon of shikakai. Apply the mixture on to the scalp and massage the hair well. After massaging for about 5 minutes it can be rinsed off thoroughly.

Take one tablespoon each of glycerin and castor oil and mix them well. Add a teaspoon of cider vinegar and a small amount of shampoo. Mix them well until a paste is formed. Apply the mixture to the scalp and gently massage to make sure it spreads all over the scalp. Leave it to set for about half an hour. Rinse off properly using water. This treatment is very nutritious to the hair.

People with dry hair must take extra care of their hair. Make sure not to use shampoo daily as it can make the hair drier. It depletes all the natural oils and moisture from the hair.

Dry hair can be treated using coconut oil. It gives life to dull hair. Apply a small amount of coconut oil and gently massage it all over your hair. Leave it on overnight. The next day it can be washed off using mild shampoo. Prolonged usage of this process can produce significant changes to your hair.

Moisture and oil content is necessary for strong hair. Using olive oil or sunflower oil can also help your hair in retaining some moisture and oil content. The procedure is same as that of using coconut oil.
