Today some of the finest mural arts are found in Kailasnatha Temple in Ellora, Badami, Sittanavasal in South India and in Ajanta Caves. All these artwork depict religious themes, scenes from the lives of Buddhist monks, mythical creatures and so on.


Rajput Painting: This type of painting includes the Miniature and Mural types of paintings which are done in the Royal courts of Rajputana. The Rajput paintings basically depict the events and stories from different epics like Mahabharata, Bhagavata Gita and Ramayana.
