Mapping Out Spain

It's useful to have a good map when planning your holiday to Spain

, particularly if you are going to be exploring the countryside. With a map you have a better visual of the countryside and the best way to get from city to city. Of course this is also useful in determining whether you want to visit cities, coastal resorts or both.

If you are planning to tour Spain then having a detailed map would be considered essential to get you to the respective places you want to visit. Tours are very popular in Spain and can be walking, hiking, or even just touring the wineries. It is important if touring in a group that you all stay together and don't go wandering off on your own as its very easy to get lost in any strange country. If you intend to visit somewhere on your own make sure you allocate a meet up point with the rest of the group. Even if you are not part of a group and travelling alone it is always a good idea to have handy access to a good map.

The popular Costa del Sol, along with the famous cities of Seville, Malaga, and Granada can be found in the south of Spain. Tourists are attracted to the Costa del Sol because of the spectacular beaches stretching along the coastline. Though more recently golfers have started to take an interest in the area.

Many are drawn to the delights of the Mediterranean Sea which can be found along the east coast of Spain. This area is the Costa Blanca and is has some very popular holiday destinations namely Alicante, Torrevieja and Barcelona. The large towns in this area are extremely popular holiday destinations, with attractions such as beaches, sightseeing, nightlife just to name a few.

You will find the country's capital Madrid in the centre of Spain plus some magnificent mountain ranges. In this area you will find numerous small towns steeped in history and information about the Spanish culture. Close by the mountain ranges of the Sierra de Guadarrama, Sierra de Gredos and Montes de Toledo contribute a spectacular feel to this central area.

In the north of Spain you will discover tiny fishing villages, and the lesser known coastal resorts. Here you will be able to experience authentic Spanish life and culture more readily than in the larger cities flooded with tourists.
