All eyes and DVR's are set on March Madness this week as round two of The 2011 NCAA Tournament gets underway today. Sixty-eight teams are competing this year for the coveted championship title. The Big Dance between the East and Southwest and the West and Southeast will culminate with the final four games April 2nd-4th at Houston's Reliant Stadium.

The fiery matches between these underdogs and frontrunners will likely involve a few upsets and projected wins. As a result, March Madness will inevitably live up to its name. While the NCAA Tournament season swells, so will another season. Spring is also the official kick-off to moving season. Many families, because of their kids, wait until the summer months to move. However, planning normally begins early spring. So in the next couple of weeks moving companies' phones will begin ringing off-the-hook.

Let me offer a bit of advice so you avoid moving mayhem. Begin receiving moving quotes immediately. If you're making a long distance move, schedule a few appointments (three-five) with in-home estimators. The estimators will conduct a survey of your property and determine the best moving plan possible. In all likelihood quotes will vary from mover to mover, however there shouldn't be a drastic variation. Beware of cheap rates, as moving scams abound. A reputable in-home estimator will supply you with an itemized breakdown as an estimate. Weigh your options with all three and then quickly book the one that best suits your needs.

Large moving companies also allow online booking or quotes over the phone for local moves and those within state lines. So if you fall into any of these categories, request a quote from a few reputable movers in your area. As with the long distance move, the earlier you book the more you will save and likely end up securing the date and time you need.

Once your mover is booked, begin to downsize. This along with packing is normally the most hectic process. However, when done over a span of time, it lessens the sting. Booking early allows you to secure the date and time you need and save money. If you need to move this summer, avoid moving mayhem by booking your move today.
