If you are a business owner, then you know how important it is to network with other businesses and people. But where do you go to meet these people. People who are willing to help you be successful by referring your business to others. I know one place where you can do that. Its call Meetup.com

Meetup gives you two options to network- you can be a member of a group or be an organizer of a group. There are meetup groups all over the United State. What that means is that you can become a member of a group that best fits your networking objective. That group could be local to you. That way you don't have to travel as much. How cool is that???

Once I found that, I started searching meetup groups close to where I live. To my surprise, there were truck load of meetup groups near me. So, I joined as many as I could. I even went to couple of meetings (in person) to see how this thing works. I must admit that I was little concern that they were going to sell me something that I didn't want. But that was not the case at all!!!

People were very friendly and helpful. The vibe that I got from them was that I help your business and you help my business. Isn't that the point of networking??? People helping other people grow their business. I think so.

After those meetups, I started thinking what happens if I start to network with people outside of my local area. So, I started joining other meetup groups out of my state. I figure, the more people that I know the BIGGER my networking group will be.

One of the meetup groups that I joined; they are dedicated to online webinars only. Which I think is FANTASTIC idea!!! For people who are just seeking different ideas to grow their business, this is the perfect kind of meetup group for them. They can just watch and listen to the webinar and use the ideas to grow their business. They call this "Web Networking". Brilliant idea, isn't it?

After my first webinar, I realized that meetup has endless amount possibilities. So, I decided to open my own meetup group (http://bit.ly/MarkKumar-MeetupGroup) and be an Organizer. My meetup group is dedicated towards Weddings & Portraits networking and education. I just started this meetup group the other day and I already have people joining my group. As if they were waiting for me to open the group.

I am really excited about my meetup group. I have few brilliant ideas that I think my members will really going to love.
