When someone searches for a "buying" keyword, they are one click away from making a sale. For example, if you want to buy a digital camera, you will research several different models. Once you have narrowed it down to one or two different cameras, you may plug the exact model number into the search engine. That model number is a "buying" keyword.

The problem is, it is a big error to direct this traffic to a sales page right off the bat. You still need to give them information. Direct them to some helpful content that will help them make a buying choice, like a review or a product comparison. If they like what they read, they will reward you with a click and maybe even a sale.

How does this translate to your existing business? Think about your products in terms of "solutions to problems" and go from there. Once you know why people need your product or service, you can frame your content to highlight that.

In order to successfully market your business online, it helps to understand that the internet is vastly different from the offline world. Adapt this principal to your marketing efforts and you will be successful.
