Martial Arts Fighting Techniques
With the global acceptance of Martial Arts as a sporting activity the fighting techniques involved have undergone tremendous changes
. In olden days Martial Arts fighting techniques were more barbaric and motivated by a killer-instinct. But the modern techniques in each style have been framed keeping in view protection of health as a must. Today the focus is more on display of strength and skills and not injury of the opponent.
The fighting techniques vary from style to style. The techniques used in Boxing are entirely different from the ones used in wrestling. And the different types of wrestling have their own variations in techniques. The techniques vary mainly on the basis of the use of weapons, the use of particular parts of the body, the target areas of attack, methods of defense applied and the focusing of concentrated energy. Different techniques use different body parts as fists, elbows, knees etc. A particular Martial Art uses a number of techniques but their suitability depends upon the opponents strength, weaknesses and defense techniques.
The fighting techniques include grappling, balancing, chocking, pushing, striking, punching, pounding and kicking. The techniques involved depend on the category of the Martial Art and also on the levels of proficiency acquired. These techniques also come with a set of limitations as to the intensity, level and area of their application. In most cases, striking on the head and below the waist is disallowed. Modern rules also prescribe use of protective accessories as headgear, masks, shields, gloves etc for different styles and categories.
Martial Arts Fighting Techniques can land you in trouble if you dont apply them, in the right manner, at the right place, in the right time, against the right opponent. A real Master of Martial Arts is the one who has succeeded in mastering the techniques.
