Maryland has Fishing, Historic Sites and Satellite TV

If you live in Maryland you may be well aware of what Maryland has to offer as far as historic sites, outdoor activities and more. What you may not know though is that Maryland now has satellite TV for those days that you don't feel like being outside. While you're not out fishing or touring Baltimore City, you may want to relax on your couch in front of your television set and enjoy one of your favorite TV shows.

Maryland has many great attractions to offer from Baltimore City in Central Maryland to the Ocean City beaches on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. If you are visiting Maryland with your children or live there with your children, you can visit the Adventure Park, U.S.A. in the Capital Region with miniature golf, go-karts, arcades and more family style entertainment. It's always fun to get the whole family out there on the go-karts and see who can win as long as your children aren't too competitive with each other. If your children are a little older and looking for something more adventurous than a day of playing go-karts and mini-golf, you could take them to Adventure Sports Center International (ASCI), which is specifically an adventure sports destination. It has a whitewater course stretching one-third of a mile through the beautiful nature in Maryland.

For those who enjoy learning more about history and visiting historic sites, Maryland is the perfect place for you because it's rich with historic sites and museums highlighting American history. Maryland has the Antietam National Battlefield on the Western side of the state, which is a park commemorating September 17, 1862, which is known as "the bloodiest one day battle in American history." You can also visit Ellicott City Station which is the oldest surviving railroad station in America at the B&O Railroad Museum: Ellicott City Station. For the history buff who is also a sports enthusiast, there is even a museum dedicated to Babe Ruth's home in Baltimore. It's the Babe Ruth Birthplace & Museum with interesting items from George Herman "Babe" Ruth's life.

There isn't a lack of art in Maryland if you like museums but don't want to visit one focused on a railroad or baseball icon. The Annmarie Garden is a sculpture park in Southern Maryland that is in association with the Smithsonian Institution. The 30-acre park holds festivals and activities for visitors year-round. You can also visit the American Visionary Art Museum in Central Maryland and spend the day enjoying the work of self-taught artists. You will certainly be able to find something the whole family can enjoy to get you out of the house and around town in Maryland. But for those days that you don't feel like leaving the house because it's raining or you've already had an eventful day and just want a relaxing night, there's always the option of watching your satellite TV. Curl up on the couch with your family and watch a movie or your favorite television show and relax while you plan your activities for tomorrow.
