, however this could be a great way of helping them relax and enjoy themselves.
Jessie Hewitson of The Telegraph recently went for a babymoon' with her husband at London's Metropolitan Hotel in Park Lane.
This type of break involves the expectant mother being pampered by a massage therapist in London while then retiring to a luxurious bedroom with the dad-to-be to enjoy a night of relaxation and indulgence.
The babymoon or pre-pampers pampering as Jessie calls it, has been popular in the United States for quite a while but it has only just started to take off here in the UK.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Emma Thomson, director of babymoon's provider The Baby Gurus, describes how receiving massage services in London and relaxing with your partner can be a great way to relax before the baby arrives.
She said: "Most of our clients are busy professionals who want to enjoy some quality time with their partner before their baby arrives.
"It's a special time- we're all so busy these days, we don't always take the time to focus on having a new baby like we should do."
With different types of babymoons to choose from, couples will be able to find one suited to their needs and expectations.
For example, there is the prospect of booking an educational break where couples get help and advice on what to expect from the pregnancy and after the birth. In addition there is also the option of booking a break for complete relaxation which may indeed include a soothing massage.
