Master Time Management To Achieve Financial Freedom

As a coach, trainer or therapist, there will never be enough time to do everything

on your "to do" list, no matter how efficient a time manager you might be. Most people start by looking at what has to be done. A much more effective method of time management is to start with what results you're committed to achieving. Tony Robbins calls this the RPM method and this article provides a summary of how to use RPM to help achieve financial freedom as a coach, trainer or therapist.

1. R means clarifying the precise Results you're looking for. For example, when setting up a continuity program to deliver high quality content to your members each month, be clear how many members you are looking for by when and how much each will pay per month.

2. P involves setting out the Purposes behind the results because "when the why is clear, the how is easy". Ideally there should be purposes for both you and your clients. In the above example, the purpose for you might be for you to cover monthly living costs from the income of the continuity program alone. The purpose for your clients might be to show them during the 3 month period of the program how to start creating passive income by creating and selling their own audio and video products.

3. M requires a Massive Action Plan or MAP to deliver high quality results which meet the stated purposes. A MAP is not the same as a "to do" list. It's a much focused "chunked up" set of key milestones or staging posts necessary to deliver the overall results.

The beauty of this approach to time management is that it enables you to "see the wood for the trees" and avoid the feeling of overload that comes with many traditional task-based approaches to time management. It also builds massive motivation and enhances productivity by focusing on powerful purposes and helping you visualize crystal clear end results.

When working on a specific task, do it in a focused way for 45 minutes and then take a 5 minute break. Do another focused 45 minutes and then take a 30 minute break. I learned this excellent productivity technique from Tim Ferris, author of "The 4-hour Work Week". Using a simple kitchen timer and setting it for 45 minutes, I can be very focused and productive in researching and writing an article like this every single day of the week. Invariably, the article is completed inside 45 minutes after all Parkinson's Law states that "work expands to fill the time available".

Achieving financial freedom as a coach, trainer or therapist is all about freeing yourself from the tyranny of having to exchange your limited and valuable time for money. Put these simple but powerful time management techniques into action and it will be much easier toachieve financial freedom.
