Are you familiar with the holiday destinations in beautiful Spain? If you havent thought about going to this country until now, it is time for you to do this, as Spain is an amazing place to spend a holiday. The south of Spain is very popular because of the mild temperatures throughout the year; this is also the place where you will find Mazarron, on the Costa Calida. Mazarron offers some of the best beaches in Spain and to make it even more interesting, you should know that, like many other places in Spain, the Romans, the Moors and the Phoenicians fought for it, and left their marks for the coming generations.

A bay surrounded by mountains is what makes Mazarron and gives it its wonderful landscape. Just like any other Spanish resort, Mazarron has two main parts: the Puerta del Mazarron, where you will find the coastline with the beaches, the water and the yachts, and the historical part of Mazarron where tourists go sightseeing. There are a few interesting monuments here that deserve your attention, such as the Veles Castle, the Convent of La Purisma or the San Andres Church which impresses the tourists with its Mudejar ceiling.

Having fun in Mazarron

One of the tourists favorite places is the Puerto Mazarron. The esplanade of the port is full or restaurants where tourists can taste both the traditional tapas and fine international cuisine dishes as they watch the boats come and go; the view is spectacular. The number of beaches is impressive and they all share the same characteristics: delicate sand and clear waters. The most popular beaches are Playa del Casteller, Los Lobos, Playa de Bahia, and Playa de Nares. Some of these beaches are perfect for families with small children because the waters are shallow here. Mazarron is also the perfect destination for those who love nature; the Sierra de la Moreras and Cabo Tinoso are protected areas where tourists can go on trips.

If you want to get out of Mazarron for a day, go visit Cartagena, which is situated very close by. Cartagena is a historical town of Spain, a place where you can find out a lot of interesting things regarding the past of this country. Entertainment is always present in Mazarron, a place where fiestas feel like home. There are several such parties throughout the year, providing delight for the audience. Have fun in Mazarron!
