Shirdi, known as the place where the popular saint Shirdi Sai Baba lived, is situated in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra state. Popularly called the 'Land of Sai', Shirdi is considered to be a pilgrimage destination for numerous ardent Sai devotees throughout the year.

Being two important cities and due to the close proximity, there is a lot of tourists that travel between the cities of Aurangabad and Shirdi.

Aurangabad and Shirdi are well-connected to each other via railways and roadways. Shirdi is located at a distance of 116 km from Aurangabad. The travel time is about 2 hours by road to reach Shirdi from Aurangabad. The most recommended routes to reach Shirdi from Aurangabad are via the SH 60 and SH10.

Trains from Aurangabad to Shirdi depart from two stations in Aurangabad, Aurangabad Junction and Bhusaval Junction railway stations. They arrive at two stations near Shirdi, one is the Sainagar station and the other is the Manmad station, 20 km away.

Some of the trains that connect Aurangabad and Shirdi via Manmad are Saket Express No. 11068 and Bsb Ltt Super Express No. 12166. Cct Snsi Express No. 17206 connects Aurangabad and Shirdi via Sainagar Station. The average time taken is 3 to 4 hours. If travelling by train one can book the tickets in advance from the IRCTC portal or from across the railway reservation counters.

Taxis are also available to travel from Aurangabad to Shirdi. These cars take about 3 to 4 hours to reach Shirdi from Aurangabad. The taxi fares from Aurangabad to Shirdi range between 9 to 160 rupees per kilometer depending upon the type of vehicle chosen by the traveler.

There are a number of bus services available from Aurangabad to Shirdi. These buses that range from air-conditioned Volvo buses to non air conditioned ones charge from 400 to 1050 rupees per traveler depending upon the type of bus chosen by the traveler. They take a travel time of about 2 hours to 3 hours to reach Shirdi from Aurangabad.

There is no airport at Shirdi and the nearest airport is at Nasik which is the Gandhi Nagar Airport, 76 km away from Shirdi. It is thus not possible to reach Shirdi from Aurangabad via air.

The easiest way to reach Shirdi from Aurangabad is via road.
