There are generally two technologies used in Inkjet printers:

One uses nozzles with their own integrated heating element.

Other uses nozzles having a piezoelectric technology. Each nozzle is associated with piezoelectric quartz, which excited on its resonant frequency, deforms and ejects ink drops.

The Inkjet printer uses ink liquid and can made color quality comparable to that of professional photos. Printing is based on two Techniques:

When printing, ink droplets are continuously ejected from the head printing and partly diverted to the paper. The rest of the ink is recovered and recycled for another round of spray.

When printing, ink drops are not ejected and created continuously.

The mostly used toner cartridges in inkjet printers are bizhub c20 toner, bizhub c220 toner and bizhub c280 toner.

The Laser Printer Technology:

Laser printers use a technology similar to that used by photocopiers. A laser printer is mainly consists of a photosensitive drum which is electro statically charged and is able to attract the ink to form a pattern that will be deposited on the sheet of paper.

They operate as follows: An ionizer sheets of paper load positively. The laser supports positively drum at certain points through a rotating mirror. Thus, the ink in the form of powder (Toner), negatively charged, is deposited on parts of the toner having been previously loaded the laser.

When drum rotates ink is sprayed on the paper. A heating wire (called coronary) than fix the ink on paper. Thus, the laser printer, with no mechanical head, is fast and quiet.

A distinction is made in both technologies for laser printers: "Carousel" (four passes) or "Tandem" (single pass).

Carousel: With the technology carousel, the printer makes four passes to print a document.

Tandem: A laser printer leveraging technology "tandem" file each color in one pass, toners are arranged in parallel. However, this technology has a higher cost, the mechanics is more complex. It is therefore reserved in principle for color laser printers for medium or high end.
