Step 1: Podiatric Exam
The first step in your foot facial is a podiatric examination in which your podiatrist will thoroughly examine your feet to ensure their health. They will look for any cuts, bunions, calluses or any other areas that need to be targeted during your foot facial to ensure accuracy. The podiatric exam will show your podiatrist just where they need to work on and if you need further treatment outside of a foot facial.
Step 2: Chemical Peel and Dermal Abrasion Exfoliation.
Microdermabrasion is a sandblasting machine that is used to blast off hard skin, which is also performed in facials. This process is designed for deep exfoliation. It sloughs off unwanted dry or damaged skin cells and reduces the appearance of unwanted cracks and fine lines on the feet and toes.
Exfoliation during the foot facial is used to remove calluses and other unwanted areas. First, your podiatrist will massage a special paste onto your foot. This will remain on your feet for approximately 10 minutes. After a period of time, it will be washed off. A pumice stone will then be used to rub the callused area.
Step 3: Trimming and Bleaching of Toenails
