Medicare Patients Give Chiropractic High Marks.
Chiropractic has been gaining popularity as the preferred choice of the Medicare patients
. There are various factors accounting for this constant increase in the demand of chiropractic care, such as effectiveness of treatment, low cost of treatment, persistent positive results, and chiropractic cares applicability to a wide range of medical problems. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of chiropractic care on a variety of patients from multiple regions, there has been various studies and surveys conducted that encompass the analysis on all of the above factors. These surveys have consistently proved chiropractic care as the most preferred choice of the Medicare patients and patients have given chiropractic the higher marks than most of the other forms of medical treatments.
For instances, a Medicare survey was conducted for nearly two years beginning in April, 2005 to examine the chiropractic services in four regions: the entire states of Maine and New Mexico, 26 counties in northern Illinois plus Scott County in Iowa, and 17 counties in central Virginia. This survey demonstrated the following results that illustrate the chiropractic cares wide popularity among the patients.
-The most common reasons for seeking chiropractic care were good earlier experiences with chiropractic, insufficient relief by other treatment methods in past, and the clinical problems in the neck, spine, hip and shoulders.
-More than 60 percent patients reported a complete or significant relief due to the chiropractic treatments conducted during the survey.
-Over 87 percent patients reported the satisfaction level of 8 on a scale of 10 due to the chiropractic care they received.
-The difference in the percentage of patients satisfied by chiropractic care was also quite high; over 60% patients treated by chiropractors reported a complete satisfaction as opposed to the 11% patients treated by the other health professionals and other treatment methods.
-The expenditure in the chiropractic care was also considerably lower than the other medical treatment methods. The surprising fact was, in nearly 49% cases, the out-of-pocket cost to the patients was almost zero, which is rarely the case with the other healthcare forms.
The above results of the said survey tells exactly the same story as almost all the other studies and demonstrations conducted in past, to assess the success of chiropractic care. It is well evident in the results and the degree of preference by the patients that the Medicare patients give chiropractic higher marks when it comes to injuries or the problems with back, hips, shoulders, neck or any other spinal problems.
