What you are going to have to do in order to prevent these contaminants from having a negative affect on your health is purchase and install a water purification system in your home.

I recommend that you use a quality dual cartridge system with a selective filtration process that includes carbon filtration, sub micron filtration, and ion exchange in order to get the cleanest water possible. This way you will never have to worry about the presence of contaminants such as medication in drinking water again.
