Medicine In Bathroom
Every bathroom needs some form of medicine cabinet
, the problem is that they quickly collect lots of junk. If your medicine cabinet is stuffed full of out of date medication, or empty bottles then you should sort things out! Amazingly two thirds of all American households have expired medications still in their medicine cabinets! It's very important to regularly look through everything inside and throw anything out that is out of date. You should ideally look through your cabinet every season so that you have all of the medicines required to treat anything you might suffer from.
Many people regularly throw away out of date food, however for some reason like to hang onto medications. Sorting out your medicine cabinet is just as important as testing your smoke alarm on a regular basis, it really could save your life. You must make sure all of your medicines are stored properly, and kept out of the way of children. It can be very frustrating if you are ill and find out you don't have the correct medicine.
Sorting out your Medicine Cabinet
There are three key important things that you must do when you are sorting out your bathroom medicine cabinet. You should start by looking through all of the medications and reading the labels. If any have expired then throw them away. If you do use any of this medication you must use it exactly how it says on the box, this not only makes it safer, but also more effective.
Any medicine that is out of date should be thrown out, if there are any empty bottles or nearly empty bottles you should consider throwing them away. After you have gotten rid of any expired medicines you should then look and see what you
need to buy to stock your medicine cabinet.
Preparation
It is important to keep any medicine in its original packets so that you have access to the directions, and expiry date. It's not a good idea to empty medication into other bottles as the information can quite easily get lost. You should keep all of your medicines together in one place, it's never a good idea to separate medications.
During the seasons where more people suffer from colds and flu you should stock your cabinet up with the necessary products to combat this. Make sure you purchase some form of pain reliever, allergy medicines, sinus medication, and cold and flu medicines. If you have young children in your house then you should also buy medicines which are suitable for children.
