The main factor in creating a Mediterranean theme is in the colour. Without a doubt, a splash of terracotta brick and china blue tiles and you are halfway there already. The Mediterranean way of living also features a lot of Al Fresco dining, so having some key pieces of garden furniture are a must.

Creating a centre piece on a table turns your standard garden furniture into a striking continental item.

Wine drinking is a European favourite pastime, so you also need your wooden garden furniture to be comfortable and practical enough for the adults to sit around and share their days experiences over a full bodied red or a pleasant white.

Colourful plants or greenery are also a must; choose terracotta pots to bring the whole look together and really bring the Mediterranean into your back garden.
