The Worlds Smallest Pony
The Worlds Smallest Pony
Ponies are known for its small stature. So when Thumbelina the pony was born she was already expected to be small. But no one expected that she was going to be a shrimp even for a pony. She beat all odds and managed to overcome all of the complications that come with having dwarfism. Today she is an extremely happy and healthy horse and her stature has made history as being the smallest horse in the world, beating the former smallest horse, Black Beauty by a mere 1 inch.
Everyone who sees her agrees that she is the most adorable thing they have ever seen. Pictures of her beside regular sized horses make her appear even cuter as she does not even reach the horses knees. Thumbelina is a Chestnut Mare and a dwarf miniature horse. She is roughly the size of an average dog. She has brown fur and bulbous eyes that seem to big for her little head. She is a measly 17 and 1/2 inches tall and weighs only 57 pounds. She has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records on 2008.
She sleeps in the farms dog house, much to the dogs dismay. Despite her small size, she still manages to act like the boss in the farm and is unfazed by the larger more intimidating animals.
Thumbelina has become a little star, appearing in numerous television programs and magazine articles around the world. She has even appeared on Oprah! She also inspired a number of merchandise including autographed pictures (with hoof prints) and a life sized plush toy. All proceeds go to her charitable foundation.
Though small in size, Thumbelinas mission is nothing short of amazing. She travels all around the United States on the Thumby mobile to make children happy. Thumbelinas Charitable Foundation mission is to visit the needy, sick and abused children all over America and to make them happy even for just a moment. Thumbelina also helps other childrens charitable organization by raising money for them. Support and acclaim for the Thumbelina Charitable Foundation has been strong. People admire Thumbelinas owners for using her gifts for good instead of for mere profit.
Thumbelina follows the hoovesteps of Bucephalus, Black Beauty and Old Billy as one of the most famous horses in history. Her contribution to society is bigger than any old normal sized horse would have ever accomplished. Thumbelina is truly a remarkable horse.
