Memorial cards are normally religious depicting a religious image. Modern memorial cards frequently include a portrait of the deceased. The photograph is normally a head and shoulders shot with a verse of an apt poem which can personalize the piece. The poem is one thing that can help depict the deceased. The poem could be about the persons interests such as sailing or gardening or walking. Failing that a passage from a religious text or prayer could be used. A memorial card or an acknowledgement card could also be created some months after the funeral; these are then sent to relatives and friends who could not attend on the day.
