Menstrual Cycle - What's It About Really?

Menstruating women might experience periods of varying time frames in the course of a lifetime.

Your menstrual periods could be phased into four menstrual phases or levels:

(i)The menstrual phase -- Day one - five

The menstrual periods flow is standard for the initial three - five days. In particular instances, this stage could range from two to seven days. The blood loss in this stage is not merely all menstruation blood; a little of it is actually the uterus lining that the body wants to discard.

(2)The follicular part -- Day six - 14

For the duration of this phase, cells develop in the bounds of tiny follicles or cavities and sooner or later become eggs. It is one of these eggs that join with a male's sperm to form a newborn baby.

Menstruation hormones (Follicle Catalyzing Endocrine - Luteinizing and FSH Endocrine - LH) are let loose into the bloodstream. A female produces eggs in the ovaries. The purpose of the first endocrine (FSH) is to catalyze the ovaries to generate eggs. And the purpose of the second (LH) is to signal the ovaries to free an egg.

(iii)The ovulation phase -- Midpoint (Day 14)

During this phase, which is with reference to the 14th day of your menstrual period, there is an unexpected intensification in the level of the second endocrine (LH). This is the clue for the follicle or sac containing the most mature egg to let loose it, for its journey downward the fallopian tube. It is during this phase that a female is extremely liable to get pregnant.

(iv)The luteal phase -- Day 15 - 27

Something like twenty eggs build up and the most mature egg will get introduced. Even as the eggs are developing, the sacs yield estrogen and just before the most mature egg gets introduced, progesterone is also produced in addition to estrogen.

Estrogen raises the current of blood to the uterus throughout the menstrual cycle phase, and assists in thickening its lining. Progesterone facilitates in the fabrication of substances that will nourish a fertilized egg rooted in the lining.

If fertilization takes place, the punctured sac, once the egg has broken through Corpus lutetium, continues to generate progesterone, meant for replenishing the growth of the embryo. Progesterone inhibits the development of further eggs, till the pregnancy is done with.

Estrogen, whilst regulating progesterone, starts a chief procedure of fetal maturation. Without estrogen, the liver, lungs and some other tissues and organs will not be able to mature.

If fertilization doesn't continue, progesterone and estrogen levels slump. Devoid of these hormones, the lining of the uterus breaks up and is let loose through the vagina, to mark the arrival of the menstrual period.

After the uterine lining is shed, your menstrual cycle begins anew.
