Mercedes Benz Grand Edition Ready For Launch

Mercedes Benz, leading German luxury car maker

, is mulling over to launch a new avatar of its popular M-Class model. The new generation M-Class model will be called Mercedes Benz Grand Edition. The new Grand edition of the car will carry an array of new generation features in its kitty such as 19-inch alloy wheels, thermal insulation glass, LED daytime running lights, AMGradiator grille and under guards, dark-tinted headlamps, aluminium roof rails for the exterior, new wood trim parts, ambient lighting and Artico man-made leather upholstery for the interiors.

By launching the new Mercedes Benz M-Class, the company is now eyeing to tap the new generation buyers who prefer to buy comparatively smaller SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles) including Mercedes Benz Q5 and Mercedes Benz X3. The company is yet to launch a vehicle in the smaller SUV segment in the Indian market. Though, the company has a small SUV, Mercedes Benz GLK-Class in its global portfolio, it is only available in the left hand drive (LHD) and its launch in the Indian market is still due. Mercedes does not currently have a smaller SUV as the GLK* is only available in LHD.

It is expected that the grand edition of the Mercedes Benz M-Class will be priced about Rs 5 lakh more than the existing model of this series. However, the company is yet to disclose any details regarding the timeline of launch and specifications of this car in the Indian market.

Meanwhile, the company is planning aggressively to maintain its top position in the Indian market which has been endangered by its arch rivals BMW and Audi. Since the starting of this year, the company has been launching a series of new cars in the Indian market so that it can make the most of the ongoing high demand momentum.
