Mercury: The Silent Epidemic Is Killing American Dental Professionals
Mercury is an extremely toxic and powerful neurotoxin that is regarded as the third
most toxic substance on the planet but thousands of tons of it are released into the environment by coal-fired plants, broken thermometers, cosmetics, batteries and put into our bodies in the form of dental amalgams. A big part of the environmental movement is focused on lowering Mercury emissions and contact points but one segment of society that comes into direct contact with Mercury and it often over looked are Dentists. Dentists are the one who directly handle the Mercury Amalgams that go into our mouths. They are the ones that breathe in the toxic dust when filing down the amalgams, and now it appears that they are dying from this mercury exposure.
"Every agency involved, from the American Dental Association (ADA) to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), admits that the removal of dental mercury emits mercury vapor and particles and that removed amalgams are often flushed without separation into the sewer system.1 These are often dumped directly into the waste-water system and end up in the public water supply". This is a main cause of mercury contamination of our water supply and puts everyone at risk.
Three separate regulatory agencies, the ADA, EPA and OSHA have all instituted guidelines and rules concerning proper dental practices when dealing with mercury and its proper disposal. But these guidelines and rules are rarely enforced and in many cases have not been communicated to the dentists. Like most professionals dentists are more concerned with making money than in ensuring their or their patient's health so many of these regulations are just ignored. Plus the ADA refuses to admit that the mercury in the dental amalgams is a hazard and continues to claim that they are safe and the FDA declares them safe, even though there is ample evidence to the contrary.
That may be changing as new hearings at the Food and Drug Administration this winter will open to bring that question to bear, once again. You would think that this would be a no brainer. Not allowing an extremely toxic substance to be put directly into our bodies.
Since nearly everyone has toxic heavy metals in their bodies removing those metals should be of utmost concern. The most effective product at removing the widest range of toxic heavy metals is Kelatox. Kelatox EDTA suppositories are the most effective chelator of the widest range of toxic heavy metals on the market today. Kelatox is at least as effective as IV EDTA but is much easier to use and safer. Kelatox is also at least 15 times more effective than Oral EDTA products.
