Mesa, as the name in Spanish suggests, is a city that resembles a table top. It is the third largest city in Arizona and has approximately 460,000 residents. In spite of its name being Spanish, the non-Hispanic whites are the ones who are dominant here making up almost 66% of the total population.Mesa can easily be called a bedroom community with no one disputing it. A large part of population commutes to work outside and comes back to hit the sack during the night, only to start all over again the next day. This could be a pointer towards the city being bereft of much work within it for the populace. Even so, Arizona University's Polytechnic College is located in Mesa. Boeing manufactures and assembles some of its aircraft and accessories in its factory in Mesa. It employs around 4000 people.

Churches dot the general landscape all over the place. Some of the most prominent churches are "New Life Foursquare Church," TNT ministries, First Assembly of God of Mesa, Unity church of Mesa and first united Methodist Church of Mesa. St. Marks is the largest Episcopal Church in Mesa and is located at 431 Richmond Place. Mesa does have a large number of churches in proportion to its population.

Churches usually start their services at 8.30am on Sundays. All churches have sermons and traditional hymns sung, Sunday Schools for children whose parents attend the parish forum right after the main service. The oldest church in Mesa is the "First Baptist Church" located at 4801, E. Brown Road.

In keeping with the times, all churches have their own websites wherein you can find all the details about the churches and their activities, past and present. Many of them have digitalized sermons steaming online and there is music online too. Some have even gone to the extent of having their presence felt in Face book!
