Metrosexual is simply defined as heterosexual man who has a very strong concern for
his appearance and lifestyle and he would be a big spender in grooming himself to get the perfect look that includes clothing, accessories, hairstyle and etc. One of the major concerns is the skin care. To fit the metrosexual lifestyle, these men intend to have the best radiant skin with the smoothest complexion anyone could have. The biggest and the most common problem that men face is the acne problem. Acne is always related to the rising level of Androgens (male sex hormones) in the human body that will cause the oil glands to grow bigger. The bigger the oil glands grow, the more oil will be produced under the skin. Hence, this acne problem hits more men then women due to the amount of Androgens produced by men during the onset of puberty. There are a lot of causes for acne. There are stress, greasy cosmetics, menstrual periods, unbalanced hormones, pregnancies and birth control pills. Blackheads could also be one of the causes when the blackheads become inflamed due to scrubbing too hard and this will develop pimples. Oily food, chocolates and peanuts are still myths in contributing to the causes of acne. Acne treatment is not something un-norm in the mans world. Men tend to seek for dermatologists to solve the acne problems everywhere and the easiest acne treatment would be from the over-the-counter products such as facial wash, masks, lotions, scrubs and even pills. These products will consist of benzoyl peroxide, sulfur and resorcinol, salicylic acid, or alcohol and acetone. Some might even go to drastic acts such as the laser treatment to get the flawless skin but for the metrosexual men, money is never to be compared to beauty. There is no surprise to see more and more man spas evolving around us nowadays. There are no shortcuts in any acne treatments. It is advisable to get professional help if the acne got worse because different types of skin will have different types of treatment to it. Even by stopping the treatments after clearing up acnes will not ensure that the acne will be cured. Practicing personal hygiene is always the best solution in controlling the acne problem from rising back again. Do ensure that the skin is always clean with suitable skin products applied to avoid the acne attack. Washing hair frequently also helps in controlling the breakouts, as the grease from the hair gel used will also contributes with blocking of the skin pores with bacteria that causes acne. Being in the metrosexual lifestyle will actually helps in understanding the importance of healthy skin.
