Microdermabrasion most common side effects and risks may be too great for the following patients and should be avoided: pregnant and nursing mothers, those suffering from active herpes, those experiencing malignant tumors, people with Keratosis, and people using Retin A of Accutane. Fluctuating hormone levels in pregnant and nursing mothers has been found to slow skin regeneration processes in the microabrasion skin treatment.
Microdermabrasion side effects and risks may also less commonly include: crystals in the eyes, inhaling crystals, and infections. These risks are only possible if the treatment provider inadvertently mishandles the equipment or makes a mistake. If these risks occur, there could be irritation in the eyes, or the lungs. These and all other microdermabrasion side effects and risks do not cause long-term injury. Microdermabrasion side effects and risks are minimal and uncommon; as microdermabrasion treatments are concerned safe ways to experience clear and smooth skin.
