Microsemi Names Winners Of Smartfusion "design Fearlessly" Contest

Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq:MSCC), today announced the winners of its SmartFusion Design Fearlessly contest

Chosen from 346 design ideas from 50 countries around the globe, the winners were selected based on their innovative use of the award-winning SmartFusionTM mixed signal FPGAs. Winning applications include:

External signal management

High-speed electronic motor control

Biological tactical detection system that samples ambient air and detects any biological material that might be present

Temperature and optical sensor interfaces used in motor control applications

High voltage inverter with high-speed SCPWM, ADC, speed loop and current loop.

Winners received a free SmartFusion Evaluation Kit that will enable them to start designing fearlessly, right out of the box. SmartFusion is the industry's only intelligent mixed signal FPGA that includes a full featured FPGA fabric, an ARM CortexTM-M3 microcontroller with a complete subsystem, programmable analog and memory and is supported by a robust, easy to design eco-system.
