Several years ago when I got married I needed to create a list of everyone we were going to invite to our wedding
. We went through several lists and gathered all of the names and addresses. We knew how to print a label on the computer with all of the names and addresses, but we didn't know anything about any programs that we could enter in the first and last names and the addresses so that we could have a permanent list. With that in mind we had to hand write everyone's information on lined sheets of paper or copy off phone lists and highlight who we wanted to invite. Then we would type in the information on the labels.
Once the labels were printed we would copy the full sheet of labels so we would have a record of who we had mailed invitations to. Then when someone would ask if we had invited someone we would have to flip through all of our notes and copied labels to see if we could find the name. There were a few people that we sent two invitations to because we didn't see their name and then found it later. Then there were others that we thought we had done and missed. It was very complicated. Then the next year when my sister got married she wanted to know if we had a compiled list that she could go through to create her wedding list. The only option for her was to go through all of my copied labels. It was crazy.
As the years have gone by I have realized that there was a great program that was available that would have made it so that we could have created a permanent list and been able to transfer the information over to labels. With Microsoft Excel Training and learning the Microsoft Excel program I have realized that we could have done whatever sorting we wanted to do. We could have entered last names, first names and addresses and had the information at our fingertips.
Microsoft Excel was a program that we had on our computer, but we just didn't know how to use it. We didn't realize what great things the program could do. In one of my college classes I received Microsoft Excel Training. I wish I would have had the Microsoft Excel Training back when I got married, but am grateful for the training that I have continued to receive on Microsoft Excel and it has allowed me to be able to create thousands of forms.
