There are several water parks along the Costa del Sol with Mijas Water Park is the biggest and most popular

. Situated just outside Fuengirola, the water park is a perfect family day out and a great way to have fun and cool down on a hot day. The water park has a wave pool, water slides and chutes, a kamikaze slide and an adventure river. A mini aqua park is designed specially for smaller kids to have just as much fun. Water aerobics, beach volleyball competitions and children's shows are a frequent part of the Mijas water park entertainment program.

The adventure river is laid out with winding curves, a thrilling ride as you toboggan down. There is a body ski slide that allows you to slide across the water face of the exit pool. One of the most popular attractions in the Mijas water park is the labyrinth slides. There are a choice of 3 levels, blue, green and yellow. Each color represents different length and speed.

Young children are well catered for, a separate section with kiddie slides and water jets will keep young ones entertained. In the center of the main pool there is Lizard island, an adventure for small kids with plenty to explore and enjoy.

For bigger kids, there is the famous Kamikaze slide, a drop of over 15 meters. Scary and a test of bravery. The wild river ride is also very popular with its long course and curves to simulate riding the rapids. The wave pool is popular with the entire families as it simulates the sea.

The water park is not all excitement and there are areas to relax. The blue lake is perfect for a relaxing swim or just to cool down on a hot day. Jacuzzi pools are also an excellent way to relax with water jets to massage your body.

A min-golf course is also available and the mijas water park has several areas where food and snacks can be purchased. Picnic areas with shade are good place to eat together and rest in between the fun.

On the Costa del Sol you know you will get sunshine and there are several places within the Mijas water park to sunbathe, deck chairs are provided. A games arcade is also on-site along with a gift shop and dressing rooms.

Safe rental is also provided to store your personal possessions. Inflatable armbands can also be rented for adults or kids who are not fully comfortable in the water.

Access to the Mijas water park is very easy. There are buses regularly from Fuengirola central bus station, journey time is 5 mins.

If you are driving to the Mijas water park, there is plenty of free parking available in front of the park. Situated centrally on the Costa del Sol, the Mijas water park is 25 mins drive from both Marbella and Malaga.

The park is open from April to October and tickets can be purchased online or directly at the water park. Adult full day ticket is 20 and kids between 4 and 12 are 15. Kids under 3 are free. Over 65's 12.

The Mijas water park also offers family tickets. Priced at 55, the ticket is for 2 adults and 2 children.

Discounts of 40% are available for afternoon only access. This discount is only activated after 3pm or 4pm in August.
