For people who suffer from chronic, or even occasional, constipation, finding a treatment that works is vital. Many people turn to mineral oil for constipation, but does mineral oil actually help relieve constipation? Well...

There have been several studies done in which patients used mineral oil for constipation to see if it was an effective treatment. It was found that some patients (about ) saw slight improvements in bowel movements while other patients didn't find mineral oil for constipation to work at all.

Mineral oil acts as a laxative and, in some cases, can actually worsen the condition or turn your bowels into diarrhea and upset your stomach even more.
