It's surprising really, even as recent as the back end of the naughties' (00-09) online dating was regarded as quite a secretive hobby. In social circles it seemed to be a topic that you wouldn't want to share with your friends, as often a topic for light-hearted abuse often caused embarrassment. Popular culture films didn't do much to ease this, often stereotyping sad lonely geeks' as the prime user base of such sites. Well, that was then. It has to be said this kind of attitude is quickly becoming a pre-historic opinion!

Online dating has, of late, boomed to scales that would have been unforseen only a couple of years ago. The embarrassment factor seems to be fading with more and more friend circles discussing online dating as an actual solution to finding happiness. Perhaps the various television adverts that often pop up inbetween programmes at prime time also suggest this trend is changing

Having been an online dating site user myself, I've tried many sites to try and solve the relationship gap in my life, with varying success. Personally, I found that free sites were often poorly designed and lacking in functionality whereas payment sites were often easier to use but lacking the selection of potential matches. If only there was a solution that incorporate the good bits from both type of service. Oh wait, this is where MingleMonkee steps in.

We appreciate that online dating can be a daunting prospect but we hope to remove those barriers and offer a fun, stress less experience to revolutionise the online dating model. Whilst maintaining a simple, relaxed and professional approach to ultimately do all we can to help the user find the person they're hoping to find.

Whilst we are always prepared to take any further suggestions from our users on board, we believe we have created a solid, easy to use product that will take online dating to the next level.
