You dont need to have the nickname the body to look good in a mini skirt but you

do have to be careful how you wear one if you havent got pins to die for. Put from your mind the one mini skirt of old, the very short, very tight skirt that your mum may have referred to as a belt because now, the mini comes in all sorts of shapes, styles, colours, patterns and textures.

From hanky hem to bubble hem and bodycon to ditsy floral, mini skirts for women can be worn alone, with leggings, jeggings, tights, over the knee socks or even lace trimmed cycling shorts and they can be dressed up for work or a glamorous evening or dressed down for a picnic in the park and a quick game of Frisbee.

If youre tall and slim theres very little that you cant wear without looking fabulous and the mini skirt is a great way to show off legs that go on for miles and miles. Team an acid washed denim mini skirt with slashed black leggings or vintage printed tights for a funky daytime look or glam it up with a black bodycon mini skirt worn with some seriously buffed and moisturised bare legs. If youre not so lucky in the leg department, not to worry, wear a 1950s-style tutu mini skirt with layers of tulle, with some thick opaque tights and a pair of killer stiletto heeled ankle boots. This look is a mix of flirty feminine and military chic and worn with a simple longline vest, youll be fighting off the boys and wondering why you hadnt invested in a mini skirt sooner.

The mini skirt allows for seamless transition from day to night; wear a simple black or cream bodycon mini skirt with opaque tights in a contrasting colour, a denim jacket and flat ballet pumps for the day, strip off the tights and pumps, slip on a pair of metallic heels, roll up the sleeves of your denim jacket and layer on the jewellery to bring a bit of glitz and glamour to your daytime look. Big slouchy bags mean you can throw your daytime accessories in and forget about them until you get home and complete the transformation with a sweep of charcoal eyeliner and a dab of gold eye shadow along the cheekbones.

Womens designer clothes are replicated by high street designers so you dont have to break the bank trying to follow the trends but when it comes to risky items such as miniskirts, its worth trying a few on until you find the one that flatters your figure and suits your style.
