Mirena IUD(levonorgestrel) is a device that contain female hormone. This hormone is used for preventing uterine lining and makes it hard for the sperm to stick to the uterus. It also prevents the egg by making it hard to get attached to the uterus. This device is put into the uterus and it slowly releases the hormone in order to prevent the pregnancy. This medication is prescribed to the woman who does not want to get pregnant at for 5 years. This Mirena IDU is used in the women who has given birth to at-lest one child. This medication is also used in to for preventing uneven menstrual problem.
How to use Mirena IDU?
This device is introduced into the vagina and placed into the uterus. This device will be placed by the doctor by applying a thin plastic tube. When the menstrual period starts these devices is applied after 7 days. This device has a string at both the end for removing the device the doctor will cut short the string so as to avoid uneasiness. Ask the doctor how to remove the device. IUD 52mg device should not be contaminated while placing in the uterus. The women should go for regular pelvic and Pap smears checkup while using this medication and to check whether or not it is placed properly after 4-12 weeks of its application. This device should not be used after completing the recommended time.
Side effects of Mirena
All medicines can have side effects. Sometimes they are serious, most of the time they are not.
