The Mirror Man Technique, created byLifeWith Personal Coaching and Hypnotherapy is an exercise to discover any mis-match between the attractiveness of a desired partner and that of the would-be suitor. As the previous article suggested, successful relationships are in the main supported by an equal level of attractiveness. Mirror Man is an exercise that is sometimes used in LifeWith dating workshops to re-align the expectations paticipants. In many cases it's the 'wake up and smell the coffee' realisation. There is a common tendency for the Peter Pan complex to occur with gay men, where they don't seem to feel they've aged past their late 20s or early 30s. This can lead guys in their 40s and 50s go for guys in lower age bandings where there is a noticeable difference in attractiveness and vitality.
Step 1.

Share: Obtain a full length picture that represents the type of guy you normally go for (from a magazine, catalogue etc), cut it out and tape it to a full length mirror to the side of your direct eye line.
Step 2.
Relax, take a deep breath and replicate the pose of the person you have taped on your mirror.
Step 3.
Take a long and detailed look at the picture, 20 to 30 seconds minimum.
Step 4.
Grade the attractiveness of the image with a mark out of ten, one being the least attractive and ten being the most attractive. Be honest with this grading.
Step 5.
Look at your reflection, an equally long and detailed look, 20 to 30 seconds minimum.
