To putt accurately, a golfer must know how the putt breaks both on speed and rotation. Here is a drill which teaches you to combine the right speed and direction for accurate putting.
On the practice green find a mid-length putt with plenty of break.
Putt a few balls to the hole.
Mark the spot where the ball starts its break toward the hole.
Return to the hole, take the same stance and make some more putts. Focus on aiming the ball on the high side of the break.
Do this till you have a clear picture of the proper direction and just how fast you have to strike the ball to sink it in the hole.
This routine will help you to putt more accurately and if you miss, miss on the high side like the pros do.
