The Mizuno MP-63 is the latest evolution of Mizuno's hugely popular MP range and builds on the success of the MP-62, Mizuno's most popular tour iron. It has been designed to take the visual appeal of the MP-62 and combine it with an improvement in both feel and workability. It feature a diamond back cavity for a touch of forgiveness but also to provide better feel through what Mizuno call Harmonic Impact Technology (HIT), which is essentially how the club vibrates at impact.

By building on the profile and design , the MP-62 Mizuno have sought to create an iron. A few years ago, I sold a set of Mizuno MP-60s and have been ruing the decision pretty much ever since. At the time, I thought I'd found a better fitting set for my game. Unfortunately, I haven't found an iron with that same sweet feel that those MP-60s had. One of the main changes in the new Mizuno MP-63 iron is a 360 grind on the trailing edge that allows for workability and a compact looking top line at address. So Mizuno MP 63 Irons offers even more in both feel and versatility.

Mizuno have devoted much time and energy to their research into the sound and feel at impact (called Harmonic Impact Technology) and the Diamond Muscle Design that debuts in the MP-63 golf iron set proved to be the most popular design in blind testing by Mizuno's tour golfers. The Diamond Muscle Design reinforces the club head from heel to toe and offers enhanced feel and ball control.

The MP-63s let you know where you are making contact, and reward strikes on the sweet spot with that buttery forged Mizuno feel. The fact that you don't have to be absolutely dead solid perfect to experience it and get optimal results from the club was unexpected and welcome. Yes, better players will probably get more out of these than a bogey golfer would, but depending on your goals don't dismiss any club simply because of who it's supposed to be for.
