You don't want your CD to come off as a slick marketing pitch, so overproducing your CD can actually harm you.

Why does this technique work? Think about the items you typically receive in the mail - bills, advertisements, coupons, more bills... it's probably pretty rare that you actually get anything of value in the mail. Your informational CD will be a great surprise to your subscribers and one that will make you stand out!
